Eni Grease

According to the definition given by ASTM (American Society of Testing Material), a lubricating grease is a solid to semifluid product composed by thickening agent in a liquid lubricant. The most used thickeners are metallic soaps, organic and inorganic thickeners. The base oils used can be: mineral, synthetic, vegetable or esters of natural or synthesis origin. The combination of thickeners, base oils and additives gives to the grease its characteristics, performance and range of use. The National Lubricating Grease Institute (NLGI) has developed a numerical scale to classify the consistency of greases. It defines nine distinct grades of greases, ranging from 000 (extremely fluid) to 7 (solid). Eni offers a very wide range of lubricating greases for all applications in a variety of sectors: heavy industry (cement plants, steel mills), papermaking, factories and marine applications.

Multipurpose Grease

According to the definition given by ASTM (American Society of Testing Material), “a lubricating grease is an extremely fluid solid product that consists of a thickening agent in a liquid lubricant”. The most widely used thickeners are the metal soaps to which are added organic and inorganic thickeners. The base oils used are mineral, synthetic, vegetable or esters of natural or synthetic origin. The combination of various thickeners, base oils and specific additives give the grease its characteristics, determine performance and range of use. Greases are also classified according to consistency; the NLGI (National Lubricating Grease Institute) has divided them into 9 classes, from extremely fluid (grade 000) to solid (grade 7).

Sagus

Eni Sagus 60 is a black graphite grease with high adhesive properties, suitable for the lubrication of uncovered mechanical parts operating even at high temperatures, in particular for gears, worm gears, racks, rollers, chains, ropes and metal cables. Its main applications are in cement and chemical plants, where it can also be applied by brush or spray in centralized automatic systems. Eni Sagus 60 is formulated with graphite, whose type and granulometry grant perfect lubrication also in harsh operating conditions, as the solid graphite film between the surfaces of the lubricated parts allows the correct functioning of moving mechanical parts even under heavy mechanical and thermal stress.

LC

Eni Grease LC 2 is a special ‘multipurpose’ grease, formulated with lithium complex soap and anti-rust, antioxidant and EP (Extreme Pressure) additives. Characterized by a high dropping point and high stability, Eni Grease LC 2 has been designed to meet the particular needs of steel industry where the grease is intended for the lubrication of bearings operating at high temperatures (roller pathways for slabbing, ovens outputs roller way’s of continuous casting). It is also used for the lubrication of bearings and other organs operating under severe conditions (joints, bearings of paper mills, rolling mill bearings and flat bearings and rolling bearings exposed to wather washout), subject to heavy loads and shocks in a range of temperatures ranging from -20°C to +150°C.
